Beauty in the Mundane

My sister studied joint honours Maths and Art at Aberystwyth University five years ago and her artwork was based around the idea of finding beauty in the mundane and in particular, derelict buildings. She then created prints of mundane images of hotels or doorways and linked each of them to a maths problem and printed them onto squared graph paper to add another link to her Maths course. Since then, I have always looked for beauty in the mundane and I have a fascination with interesting patterns, colours and composition that can be found everyday. Recently, I have been taking photographs of things which catch my eye so I can keep a record and potentially find inspiration in them. I also believe these things I notice can have a subconscious affect on my and the work I produce. Below are some photographs of interesting things I have seen which I find beauty and inspiration in.
