When I can, I attend the life drawing classes at the School of art, being a fantastic opportunity to improve my drawing skills and add to my ever-growing passion for art. However, due to the Christmas holidays and attending a funeral recently, it has been a while since I went to one of these classes. So, seizing the relaxing pace of my job as a gallery assistant, I have dedicated a sketchbook purely for things I draw at the Arts Centre. This mainly consists of studies of the artwork on the walls and quick sketches of the general public. Doing this is a great exercise for me and is really testing my figure-drawing abilities due to the difficulty of sketching a moving person. I am looking forward to hopefully seeing an improvement in my life drawing as I do this more often and also to having a drawn log of current and future exhibitions.
EDIT: I have noticed that majority of the figures I draw are facing away from me as they are looking at the art of the walls but this also means (for the male figures) it looks as though they are standing at urinals (oops!)
