I have decided on my exhibition series of paintings which as a set are called Nant-y-Moch: Winter to Spring, but each one is then named after a month between these two seasons, January, February, March and April. Each painting is based on one of these months from the sketches and photographs I collected from visits to Nant-y-Moch every month. I am pleased with this decision and I think the titles are simple and straight to the point, which I believe sounds quite professional. The series of paintings is made up of four large acrylic landscape paintings on board, which I will edit down to the best three to exhibit. So far, I have three paintings in progress and I am beginning to collect sketches of Nant-y-Moch to plan a composition for the fourth painting. The boards are 61x121cm, fairly large in size as I would like them to make an impact in the degree show. As my mom pointed out, they are the perfect size to hang above a double bed or a fireplace, so I don't mind if I don't sell my work in the exhibition as I could then hang them up in my own house. I have attached photographs of my unfinished paintings as they are now, and I will post updates on how they are developing.
