ONE WEEK

Updated: Feb 25, 2020

One week. Seven days left until my work is exhibited to the public for the first time in my life. I am incredibly excited but also pretty nervous- what will people think of them? What if I find something I want to change on a painting when they're already hung up? I am very pleased with my set of paintings and everything has more or less gone to plan, but I am not going to be able to relax until the exhibition opening evening is over. I have four paintings and I need to decide on which three I am going to hang for the degree show. My tutor will help me with this decision on Monday and I will then (hopefully successfully) hang my paintings. I still need to make the labels for each painting but that shouldn't take me too long as I already have foam board ready to be used. I have also ordered 100 business cards and plastic holder for them to attach to the wall. Everything is going to plan but the fact that I still have a list of things I need to do, means there are still things that could go wrong. I have invited my friends and family to the exhibition opening, most of which are already familiar with my work and all of which will be very supportive of me. My exhibition space is ready and awaiting paintings. I will write another blog post about how the degree show went in a weeks time. This will be an occasion I won't forget.
