Oriel Lockdown was the opening exhibition at Aberystwyth Arts Centre after it had been closed for a year due a mixture of lockdown and damage reparation caused by a flash flooding.
After a long time of closure, the reopening of the Arts Centre was a highly anticipated event, and there was no better exhibition for this occasion than Oriel Lockdown.
Consisting of over 1000 artworks by 700+ artists that they had created during the lockdown of 2020, many of which directly reflected the Coronavirus itself. The artworks were chosen by two art gallery directors from a large selection of works that had been submitted via Instagram. I was lucky enough to get a painting of my own into the exhibition, making this the first time I have ever exhibited at the art gallery in which I work.
I have included a large selection of my photos of the exhibition below. It is definitely one that I will never forget.
